PUCT Project 58482, proposed new rule on Large Load Demand Management Service, open for comment
The Public Utility Commission of Texas has proposed a new rule governing demand management service for large electric loads, the category that covers data centers. The proposal for publication creates a new Section 25.521. Comments are open until September 4th, 2026. Individual Texans as well as utilities and data center operators have already filed.
